105.7 The Walrus & XX 1090 Sports Radio Host 9/11 Blood Drive at Hall of Champions

105.7 The Walrusand XX 1090 Sports Radio are joining the San Diego Blood Bank in remembering America’s September 11th Heroes at the 10th Annual Patriots Day Blood Drive at the Hall of Champions in Balboa Park on Sunday, September 11, from 9:30 a.m. to  3 p.m. Walrus 105's Mason in the Morning will be broadcasting livefrom the blood drive until 12 noon.

The first 150 blood donors will be awarded an envelope which may contain a pair of tickets to see Santana in concert on September 21st at Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre or a pair of passes to UltraStar Cinemas, home of pure digital cinema and D-Box motion seating.  In addition, Papa John’s Pizza will be delivered for blood donors beginning at 11:30 a.m. Click here to make an appointment.

This year’s drive is made possible by Barona Resort & Casino, Grossmont Healthcare District, Wells Fargo, SDG&E, Union Bank and Cox Communications.

The blood drive on September 11th is a commemoration of the dedicated San Diegans who gave blood in September 2001, as well as the many heroes who lost their lives that day.  Thanks to the U.S. Navy, the San Diego Blood Bank was the first to fly 380 pints of blood requested by the New York Blood Center to New York at 1p.m., on September 11th, 2001.
