NBC 7/39 and the San Diego Blood Bank are teaming up to make a difference in life  at the NBC 7/39 Summer Blood Drive, Friday, August 6, in the plaza behind the NBC 7/39 Studios at 225 Broadway from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The first 150 blood donors will be awarded an UltraStar Cinemas movie pass.  Donors will also enjoy delicious food from Panera Bread from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

In addition, the Blood Bank will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for a new bloodmobile at 10 a.m., on the plaza to recognize The Sempra Energy Foundation for their generous lead gift which kicked off the community fundraising effort to purchase the new bloodmobile. Las Patronas, Henry L. Guenther Foundation, Cubic Corporation and the County Board of Supervisors at the recommendation of Supervisor Slater-Price will also be recognized for their generous donations toward the new vehicle.

Anyone 17 or older, who weighs at least 110 pounds and is in good health, may be eligible to donate blood.  Potential donors should have a good meal and plenty of fluids prior to donation. Call 1-800-4MY-SDBB or visit www.SanDiegoBloodBank.org.
