HOWARD ROBIN, M.D., ELECTED SAN DIEGO BLOOD BANK BOARD PRESIDENT
La Jolla resident Howard Robin, M.D., has been elected president of the San Diego Blood Bank’s Board of Directors.
Dr. Robin is the medical director of Sharp Memorial Hospital’s Laboratory.
Dr. Robin has a long history of making a difference in life in San Diego. He has served on the blood bank’s board since 2003 and currently serves on the Sharp Health Care Foundation Board and is the secretary treasurer of the Executive Medical Board of Sharp Memorial Hospital. In the past he was president of the San Diego Chapter of the American Cancer Society and on the board of the San Diego Hospital Association.
Dr. Robin received a B.S. degree from Pennsylvania State University and an M.D. degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He is also a fellow of the College of American Pathology.
The San Diego Blood Bank is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization founded in 1950 by the San Diego County Medical Society to provide blood and blood–related laboratory services to civilian hospitals in this region. It is the largest blood collection agency in San Diego and the primary provider of blood to the majority of hospitals in San Diego County.
