NATIONAL KIDS DAY BLOOD DRIVE WILL CULMINATE AT RADY CHILDRENS ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 5, AFTER WEEK-LONG CELEBRATION AT SAN DIEGO BLOOD BANK DONOR CENTERS

Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego will be the site of a blood drive on Sunday, August 5, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. that culminates a week-long National Kids Day celebration presented by Cox Cares at all five San Diego Blood Bank donor centers from Monday, July 30 to Sunday, August 5.  All donors throughout the week will be awarded a voucher for a Free Regular Sub valid at any San Diego County Jersey Mike's location.

As the primary provider of blood to Rady Children’s, the San Diego Blood Bank is especially concerned with the health and welfare of our community’s young people.  Each year, the blood bank delivers more than 8,500 blood components to patients in need at Rady Children’s. Many of these kids are battling life-threatening diseases such as leukemia, bone cancer, aplastic anemia, sickle cell anemia and heart disorders.  Without routine blood transfusions they would not survive.

National Kids Day is a day set aside each year to celebrate and honor our country’s children.  The National Kids Day Blood Drive, also sponsored by Moneytree, helps showcase children’s needs and the importance of donating blood on their behalf.
