SAN DIEGO BLOOD BANK THANKS SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS & COMMUNITY FOR OUTPOURING OF SUPPORT FOR DEPUTIES SHOT IN THE LINE OF DUTY

More than 500 pints of blood have been donated in the name of the Sheriff's Deputies shot in the line of duty last week. These replacement donations have replenished the supply  to help save patients whose lives depend on it.

Special appreciation goes to the Sheriff's Department itself for helping to get the word out about the large amount of blood that was sent to Sharp Memorial Hospital for the deputies.  An impromptu blood drive at the John F. Duffy Administration Center also resulted in 105 donations.

"We sincerely thank every one of the blood donors who turned-out to quickly re-supply the San Diego Blood Bank," said Ramona Walker, CEO. "It is always heartening to see our community come together whenever there is an emergency."
