SEPTEMBER 11TH BLOOD DRIVE HONORS HEROES OF 9/11
105.7 The Walrus, San Diego’s Sports Leader XX 1090 and 102.1 KPRi are joining the San Diego Blood Bank in remembering America’s September 11th Heroes at the 11th Annual Patriot Day Blood Drive at the Hall of Champions in Balboa Park on Tuesday, September 11, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The first 100 blood donors will be awarded a pair of tickets to the San Diego Zoo.
This year’s drive is made possible by Barona Resort & Casino, Gen-Probe, Grossmont Healthcare District, Wells Fargo, and Union Bank.
The blood drive on September 11th is a commemoration of the dedicated San Diegans who gave blood in September 2001, as well as the many heroes who lost their lives that day. Thanks to the U.S. Navy, the San Diego Blood Bank was the first to fly 380 pints of blood requested by the New York Blood Center to New York at 1p.m., on September 11th, 2001.
Anyone who is at least 17 years old, in generally good health, weighs at least 110 pounds and provides photo I.D. may qualify to donate blood. To schedule a blood donation appointment, call 1-800-4MY-SDBB
