USS Midway Museum Hosts Bloodmobile on Veteran's Day, Tuesday, November 11

KOGO’S ROGER HEDGECOCK TO BROADCAST LIVE FROM THE HANGAR DECK ; BLOOD DONORS AWARDED TWO FREE TICKETS TO THE MUSEUM & FESTIVITIES ON BOARD

Blood donors will have the opportunity to experience one of San Diego’s most interactive museums on Veterans’ Day after donating blood at the USS Midway’s Blood Drive on Tuesday, November 11, from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Navy Pier parking lot next to the ship at 910 North Harbor Dr.

The first 100 successful donors at the drive will be awarded a pair of tickets to join AM 600 KOGO’s Roger Hedgecock during his LIVE broadcast that day and/or tour the museum (exhibits will close at 5 p.m.). During Roger’s live broadcast from 3pm-7pm, well-known military heroes from the San Diego area, including those who served on the USS Midway when it was under commission, will be in attendance.

“Touring the USS Midway is a great family outing,” said Lynn Stedd, blood bank spokesperson.  “We hope families will take advantage of this opportunity by donating blood and then boarding the aircraft carrier on a day when we remember those who have served our country in the armed forces.”

Blood donors are also encouraged to join the blood bank’s new Donor Difference loyalty program, where members are entitled to great new benefits, including the ability to track their total cholesterol, blood pressure and pulse.  Members will also earn points for each donation that can be redeemed on the blood bank’s new online store.

Anyone who is at least 17 years old, in generally good health and weighs at least 110 pounds may qualify to donate blood.  To make an appointment or for more information about the San Diego Blood Bank, please call 1-800-4MY-SDBB or visit www.sandiegobloodbank.org.
