BREAST CANCER SURVIVOR, SUZANNE PENNY, NOW DIAGNOSED WITH LEUKEMIA, IS FOCUS OF FREE BONE MARROW DRIVE AT MAIN SAN DIEGO BLOOD BANK'S CENTER, SATURDAY, APRIL 12

After surviving breast cancer Suzanne Penny devoted her life to helping other women coping with cancer.  Now she is fighting a second battle against leukemia, a diagnosis that she received in January.  To help Suzanne and patients like her, the San Diego Blood Bank's Stem Cell Donor Center is holding a bone marrow drive at the San Diego Blood Bank, 440 Upas St., San Diego, 92103, on Saturday, April 12, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Thanks to a donation from the Bone Marrow Foundation of San Diego the testing at this drive is free and open to the public.

Potential bone marrow donors can join the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) ® registry by having their cheek swabbed.  You qualify to join the NMDP ® registry if you:

 • Are within 20% of the ideal weight for your height and age set by the NMDP®
