NBC 7/39 and the San Diego Blood Bank are teaming up to make a difference in life  this winter at the NBC 7/39 Blood and Bone Marrow Drive, Friday, January 8, at the NBC 7/39 Studios at 225 Broadway from 8 a.m. to 6pm. The first 100 donors will be awarded a movie pass from UltraStar Cinemas.

Donors will also enjoy delicious pizza, salad and breadsticks, compliments of Pat & Oscar’s from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Free bone marrow testing will also be offered at this blood drive for those who wish to join the Be the Match registry of the National Marrow Donor Program with a simple cheek swab.  To qualify to join the registry you must be between the ages of 18 and 60, be willing to donate to any patient in need, and meet the health guidelines.

Anyone 17 or older, who weighs at least 110 pounds and is in good health, may be eligible to donate blood.  Potential donors should have a good meal prior to donation. Call 1-800-4MY-SDBB or visit www.SanDiegoBloodBank.org.
