Partners 4 Life Honored at Blood Drive Coordinators Appreciation Event

The San Diego Blood Bank paid tribute to Blood Drive Chair People at this year’s Partners 4 Life Coordinator Appreciation Event, that took place at the San Diego Blood Bank’s new Gateway Center headquarters.

Participants toured the new state-of-the-art facility and enjoyed amazing hors oeuvres on the blood bank’s beautiful palm-lined patio on a balmy spring evening.

The event also honored members of the Partners 4 Life program who host four or more blood drives with the San Diego Blood Bank in a year and achieve their annual lifesaving collection goal.  More than 50% of the blood collected by the San Diego Blood Bank is donated on mobile blood drives, thanks to these loyal blood drive coordinators from local corporations, churches, community organizations, high schools and colleges. 

Each group has a passionate blood drive coordinator who helps educate and recruit potential blood donors. 

In total, participants at the event helped the San Diego Blood Bank collect more than 50,000 pints of blood for area hospital patients in 2011.  We sincerely appreciate their efforts and look forward to another year of lifesaving blood drives!
