Blood Donations Help Patients Like... Erin Paulson

Twelve-year-old Erin Paulson of Wildomar has leukemia and required blood transfusions every month for more than a year and a half while undergoing intense chemotherapy at Children's Hospital in San Diego.

Today, Erin, a gifted student, is back in school. Though she is still on maintenance chemotherapy, Erin is often well enough to enjoy horseback riding, wake boarding and swimming. She also likes to dabble in the creative arts. Because Erin's blood counts are not completely stable yet, she may continue to need blood transfusions in the future to keep her healthy.
