The 8th annual San Diego Blood Bank 5K Walk/Run was a big success!

This year's Walk/Run was dedicated to the memory of two-year old Angelina Gomez who passed away in June of 2004. Angelina inspired thousands of San Diegans to donate blood during her courageous battle with DiGeorge Syndrome, a disease that causes severe heart defects. To help raise awareness, the Gomez family continues to spearhead Team Angelina on behalf of the hundreds of other patients at Children's Hospital who still rely on volunteer blood donors.
