Sponsorship is a creative and effective way to meet community relations objectives while helping patients whose lives depend on the San Diego Blood Bank. Underwriting a Bloodmobile or Blood Delivery vehicle

Over 50% of our blood supply is collected with these mobile collection units!

Financial donations toward our bloodmobile program can offer your company or organization positive publicity while providing a lifesaving gift to the community. In addition, bloodmobiles serve as an impressive moving billboard that reminds San Diegans how much your company cares about the community's welfare.

A new bloodmobile can increase our blood donations by approximately 10% or about 10,500 units of blood annually. Bloodmobiles are used every day of the year (except Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Year's Day), at multiple locations throughout the county.

San Diego Blood Bank has an urgent need for new blood delivery vehicles. These vehicles transport blood and blood products to San Diego area hospitals and beyond. An underwritten blood delivery vehicle, could feature your company’s logo in addition to attractive lettering stating “Donated by (your company name)”or similar wording. Thus, it will serve as a moving billboard, sending the message that your company cares about saving local lives. Blood delivery vehicles are driven an average of 80,000 to 100,000 miles per year and are kept for approximately 3 years before they are “retired” into other uses. 

We deliver blood daily to hospitals, many times for a  life-threatening
situation.  We must have vehicles ready for delivery at all times.

Signature Blood Drives

Be a part of our biggest blood drives including the Chargers Blood Drive and Patriot Day Blood Drives.

	Patriots Day Blood Drive is the San Diego Blood Bank’s annual blood drive commemorating the heroes of September 11, 2001, and our nation’s on-going need for donated blood. Held annually since 2002, this major event is held at the Hall of Champions in Balboa Park and features an all-day blood drive.
	Now approaching it’s 35th anniversary, the Chargers Blood Drive is the San Diego Blood Bank’s flagship blood drive, which has held a place in the Guinness Book of World Records as the “largest blood drive in the world.” Each year, more than 5,000 San Diegans attend the Chargers Blood Drive held at the Town & Country Convention Center to donate blood, receive autographs from Chargers football players and participate in festivities throughout this day-long event. Virtually all television and radio stations cover this major event.
	NBC 7/39 Blood Drive is held twice a year at Horton Plaza in downtown San Diego. This blood drive is open-to-the-public and is heavily promoted by NBC Channel 7 in the days preceeding the drives.

Year-Round Sponsors

Our year-round sponsors receive special recognition for supporting the life-saving work of the San Diego Blood Bank.

The San Diego Blood Bank's "Year Round Sponsors" provide a generous charitable contribution of at least $25,000 to support our lifesaving programs throughout the year.

In return, the Blood Bank is happy to provide our Year Round Sponsors with our highest forms of recognition every month, for an entire year. This recognition includes our fleet of bloodmobiles, our major blood drives, including the Chargers Blood Drive and the Patriot Day Blood Drive.

In addition, our Year Round Sponsors receive recognition in our major fundraising events including the 5K Walk/Run, the Transylvania Golf Classic and more.

Our Year Round Sponsors are also recognized in our extensive communications to our blood donors and financial donors, our website and other major promotional opportunities. Year Round Sponsors are limited to a total of four.
