Your donation may be allocated to one of the following funds, please call 619-400-8176 if you have any questions or would like further information.
- SDBB’s General Fund finances emergency needs such as refrigerators, freezers and laboratory equipment; various programs and services; and replaces donor beds and blood collection equipment as required.
- Trima Cell Separators on all our bloodmobiles is one of SDBB's most current needs in order to meet our platelet collection goals. People with cancer, accident victims, patients with blood disorders, and bone marrow transplant patients may need a particular blood component, like platelets. More than half of the blood we collect each day is collected through mobile blood drives, yet we don't have the ability to collect platelets on 9 out of our 10 bloodmobiles.
- Fleet of Life-Saving Vehicles Fund pays for the repair, refurbishment or replacement of our 10 bloodmobiles, two in-room set-up units and numerous blood delivery vehicles.
- Cell Therapy Program Fund supports SDBB’s public cord blood bank and cell therapy research efforts locally and nationally to unlock vital information about blood-related diseases.
