Bloodmobile Greeter

Our greeters' warm smiles and reassuring nature make the all-important first impression on donors at San Diego Blood Bank bloodmobiles. Greeters assist donors in filling out the donor history questionnaire, provide an overview of our Donor 4 Life program, maintain order of arrivals and answer general questions. Bloodmobile greeters are essential to the success of our drives. They are very much in demand. Greeter shifts last four to six hours and are usually outdoors, in various areas of San Diego County.

Canteen Host

Canteen hosts play a pivotal role in our donor center canteens by connecting with our donors,  monitoring donors for reactions, engaging them in conversation about our Donor 4 Life program, and serving refreshments.  Canteen hosts are friendly, outgoing and personable. If this describes you, then being a canteen host is your ticket to saving lives! Canteen shifts last three to four hours. Hosts can choose to work at the new Gateway Donor Center just south of downtown, Sabre Springs Donor Center (Poway), North County Donor Center (Escondido), or the North Coastal Donor Center (Vista). Shifts vary.

Health Fair Representatives

Health fair volunteers oversee information tables at various companies, campuses and organizations throughout San Diego County. They provide educational literature and answer general questions about blood donation. Hours and locations vary.

Special Events

Our special events are a fun and unique way for the San Diego Blood Bank to raise money for our lifesaving programs and services. Volunteers are needed throughout the year to help with events such as our 5K Walk/Run and Transylvania Golf Classic. Events take place mostly outdoors with a few of the volunteer activities involving physical labor.
