San Diego Blood Bank is partnering with Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank by hosting a Summer Food Drive June 1 - July 31, 2022.
Help ensure local families and patients have access to food, personal care products, diapers, and a safe blood supply during the summer months. Blood donors are encouraged to donate nonperishable food items, period products, infant formula, hygiene care items, and diapers to support San Diego Food Bank's Food Pantry and Diaper Bank Program through July 30, 2022. San Diego Blood Bank staff, volunteers, blood donors and community partners are welcome to contribute.
All eight San Diego Blood Bank donation locations in San Diego County will be accepting donations in the red San Diego Food Bank bins. Homemade foods, glass jars, and alcohol items will not be accepted.
San Diego Food Bank's 2019 Annual Report states that approximately 450,000 people face food insecurity in San Diego County. Together, through donating food items for local families, we can help eliminate food insecurity for people in our region.
Did you know that every 2 seconds someone in the US receives a blood transfusion? When you make time to donate blood, you help ensure blood is on the shelves for local patients. Every donation provides lifesaving care for people battling cancers, blood diseases, traumatic injuries, emergency surgeries, childbirth complications, and more.
Support the San Diego Blood Bank Summer Food Drive and bring food and personal care products to your next blood donation appointment and place them in the red bins!
Schedule a blood donation appointment online or call (619) 400-8251.
To donate blood, you must be 17 years old, weigh a minimum of 114 pounds, and be in general good health. Learn more about donor eligibility requirements and read FAQs.
