January is National Blood Donor Month, and to kick it off, one of San Diego Blood Bank’s valued partners, San Diego County Credit Union, is hosting a multi-location blood drive on Tuesday, January 5 from 10 am – 3 pm. SDCCU is dedicated to bringing its community together to help save lives and has done so by supporting the San Diego Blood Bank for nearly 20 years.
Blood donations are especially critical at this time of year because donations often decrease due to the holidays and cold and flu season, while the need for more blood often increases.
All donors will receive a limited-edition T-shirt. Additionally, San Diego Blood Bank is currently antibody testing each blood donation as part of their regular testing panel to qualify donations for COVID-19 convalescent plasma. Visit sandiegobloodbank.org/COVID19 for more information. Please note: As this is NOT a diagnostic test, it will not detect active COVID-19 infections or recent exposure.
Please make your appointment today. Appointments are required. Safety measures are in place.
Donors who would like to contribute but are unable to donate at one of these drives can donate at any San Diego Blood Bank donation location, noting the donation code TEAL during check-in.
