SDCCU Holiday Bowl Blood and Food Drive Enters Fourth Lifesaving Year on Nov 17

Support Community Health by Donating Blood and Food at the 4th Annual SDCCU Holiday Bowl Blood & Food Drive presented by Kaiser Permanente

San Diego County Credit Union Holiday BowlSan Diego Blood Bank, and San Diego Food Bank are hosting an event during a time of year when donations are greatly needed.

Be a game changer during the season of the giving. Bring a non-perishable food item for the San Diego Food Bank and donate blood with San Diego Blood Bank to help Southern California hospital patients.

Blood donors will receive a special-edition Holiday Bowl T-shirt (pictured below) while supplies last, and one (1) raffle entry to win a pair of tickets to the SDCCU Holiday Bowl football game on December 28 at Petco Park.

Blood Drive Details

Appointments are recommended and will be honored first. Walk-ins are also welcome.
Please allow approximately ~1 hour to donate blood. Bring Photo ID (with date of birth), and arrive hydrated.

To donate blood, you must be 17 years old, weigh a minimum of 114 pounds and be in general good health. View FAQs.

Food Drive Details

The Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank and their North County Food Bank chapter is accepting donations of shelf-stable food items to help feed families in need this holiday season.

All food pantry donations will be delivered to the Food Bank’s warehouse after the drive, where the donations will be sorted, and then distributed to local individuals and families facing food insecurity throughout the county.

  • If you are donating blood, there will be food donation barrels near blood donor check-in and registration

  • If you are NOT donating blood, drop off areas will be located at the registration tent and will be present throughout the event

The Food Bank’s “most needed food items” include:

  • canned meats and fish
  • canned vegetables
  • canned fruits
  • jars of peanut butter
  • oatmeal
  • cereals
  • pastas
