TO DONATE BLOOD

Help make up for the loss of college blood drives.
This fall semester, San Diego Blood Bank has had to cancel more than 130 high school and college blood drives. These drives would have brought in over 5,100 pints of blood, saving up to 15,300 lives in our community. Please help stand in the gap! Thank you to San Diego State University's Inter-Fraternity Council and student organizations for being there for our community.

To make an appointment to donate blood at one our convenient locations, visit SanDiegoBloodBank.org/donate. Donors must be 17 years or older, weigh a minimum of 114 pounds and be in general good health.

For information about COVID-19 and blood donation, including exposure and symptom deferrals for all donors (including healthcare workers who are currently exposed and/or are treating COVID-19 patients), visit sandiegobloodbank.org/covid19.

TO DONATE COVID-19 CONVALESCENT PLASMA (CCP)

Amid the COVID-19 outbreak at SDSU, students wanted to give back by hosting this CCP and blood drive. Anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 and has recovered may qualify to donate CCP to help treat patients currently suffering with the virus. This is because their plasma has developed antibodies against the virus. Convalescent plasma has been previously used to successfully help treat infectious diseases similar to COVID-19, including the Spanish Flu, SARS, and H1N1. Donors must be symptom free for 28 days.

Step 1: Submit an interest form at: sandiegobloodbank.org/donateplasma

Step 2: A SDBB employee will call you to discuss next steps.
