Volunteer Opportunities

Bloodmobile Greeters

Bloodmobile Greeters are the first people that our donors see at a blood drive. They reassure those who are nervous, make each blood donor feel welcome, assist with filling out the donor history questionnaire, maintain the order of arrivals, and answer general questions. Greeters are an essential part of our success in blood drives and are very much in demand. Shifts can last from 4-6 hours and are usually outside throughout the Southern California region.

Donor Center Hosts

Donor Center Hosts provide support inside one of our nine donor centers. Donor center hosts play a crucial role in the donor experience. They must demonstrate a high level of customer service and have a willingness to help others. Responsibilities include greeting donors as they enter our donation centers, thanking them for their donations, monitoring them for any change in condition, and offering them refreshments. Donor Center Hosts serve at eight locations throughout San Diego County and one location in Orange County, Irvine in 4-hour shifts.

Office Administration/Special Projects

At times San Diego Blood Bank may need additional assistance in general office administrative duties. Opportunities range from filing and data entry to working with our marketing team on special mailing campaigns.
